We are a values-driven church, Pentecostal in style, committed to four aspirational biblical values, and part of our character is that we believe we have been called to go on a bicultural journey.

Honouring God the Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit

Glorifying God as Father, Jesus as Saviour and Lord, and honouring the manifest presence of the Holy Spirit.

The Word

We believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God and that there is power in the word.
“In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God.” John 1:1
We teach from the Bible to learn and grow in our understanding of who Jesus is, and by knowing Him we can find true fulfilment in our lives.

A Commitment to the Great Commission

Obedience to the great commission locally and globally as found in Matthew 28:18-20
We believe that a healthy church needs to have a world mission and a local mission. Our job is to partner with and encourage, gifted church leaders in the developing world by sending Beach Church teams to work alongside them. We believe in sending our own people to the mission field.
We are also committed to local missions, with a heart to care and reach out to our local community of Raumati and the wider Kapiti Coast.

Manaakitanga - A Generous hospitality (Romans 12:13)

Manaakitanga is a treasured value here at Beach Church. It encompasses us as a living part of our identity both in the church whānau, and wider community.
“Nāu te rourou, nāku te rourou, ka ora ai te iwi.” ~ With your food basket and my food basket, the people will thrive.
We have kai together after church each Sunday. Most events we host include offering food to our guests.

Tikanga Rua

As well as these biblical values above, we desire to be an authentic church culturally in Aotearoa. We believe that this is part of the character and calling of Beach Church. The original intent of the Treaty of Waitangi remains important to us as we go on a bicultural journey, working out as we go how to express ourselves as two people; Tangata Whenua and Tangata Tiriti, woven together in the unity of Wairua Tapu (Holy Spirit). We also acknowledge that Aotearoa is a multicultural country and that Pākehā isn't the only grouping brought together with Māori under the Treaty.

What to Expect

Wherever you are at in life, whatever your background, whether you are new to the area or just visiting, we want to welcome you. We meet together every Sunday at 10am. We’d love you to join us.

We realise that visiting a church for the first time can be an intimidating experience. To make you feel a bit more at home, here’s what you can expect from our Sunday services.

Worship

We want our worship to lift up Jesus Christ. 
We love getting into God’s presence and being led by his Spirit in worship. We intentionally choose songs that are rich in biblical truth and songs that we sense the Holy Spirit is moving on.

We also desire to worship God in the tongue of our land – Te Reo Māori.

Worship at Beach Church is an invitation to come enter in and give glory to our wonderful heavenly Father. His presence is so precious to us and we are intentional in our worship to allow and encourage encounters with Holy Spirit, His Love, Power, Revelation and Healing.

Beach Kids

At Beach Church we love and welcome families. Our children’s programme, Beach Kids, which is run by a fantastic team of committed teachers and helpers, is available during the service for five year old’s and over. It is designed to teach our kids in a fun and interactive way so they can learn and grow in their relationship with God.

A Parents/Caregivers Room is also available for children under five with parental supervision.

Community

We love to hang around after the service and share a coffee and some food together. This time is more than just getting to sample some of the delicious treats on offer (even though these are something pretty special). It’s a time to get to know one another and create community.

We’d love for you to join us for morning tea after the service.

Feedback and Complaints

If you have feedback, a grievance or wish to complain about something or someone at Raumati Beach Church, then please contact Darren, who is the chair of Trustees ( darren@beachchurch.org.nz ), who will then process the complaint/feedback appropriately and with sensitivity. We promise to treat you with respect, in a fair and courteous manner at all times, be clear and timely in our communications with you and always comply with New Zealand law.
